Troy E. Edwards

DAVIS JUNCTION, IL ~ With profound sadness, we announce that Chief Master Sergeant (Retired) Troy E. Edwards, 58, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at his home in Davis Junction, IL.

Born April 14, 1966, in Great Bend, Kansas, to Robert Edwards and Patricia (Warner) Spohn, Troy dedicated his life to service. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force after a distinguished military career. His commitment to protecting others continued as he served as a Fire Marshall for Constellation in Byron, IL.

On July 23, 1988, in Great Bend, Kansas, Troy married the love of his life, Tammi Dohrman, beginning a beautiful 36-year journey together.

Above all, he treasured his roles as husband, father, papa, brother, and son, approaching each with the same devotion he showed in his service to country and community. Beyond his professional dedication, Troy found joy in golfing, fishing, and cheering on his beloved Kansas City Chiefs.

Troy was preceded in death by his father, Robert Edwards (2014), and his cherished granddaughter, Evelyn.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Tammi Edwards of Davis Junction, IL; children Paige (Nate) Galloway of Morris, IL; Alex (Paityn) Edwards of Machesney Park, IL; Lauren (Cody) Merrill of Dixon, IL; and Madi (Seth) Linhart of Leaf River, IL; beloved grandchildren Harper, Elle, Gwen, Beau, Storii, Canaan, Everlee, and Wyatt; mother Patricia (Doyle) Spohn; step-mother Sandy Edwards; parents-in-law Marvin & Sharon Dohrman; siblings Rob (Valerie) Edwards of Bixby, OK , Jami (Russell) Phillips of Denison, KS, Eric (Mary) Edwards of Kansas City, MO, Lindsy (Mark) Newton of Lindsborg, KS, and Chris Edwards of Lindsborg, KS.

Private services will be held at a later date. Troy will be laid to rest at Stillman Valley Cemetery in Stillman Valley, IL. Memorial donations in Troy's name may be directed to herosrest.org.
