Warren Iver Freedlund, age 89, went to his heavenly home on August 5, 2024. He was born on June 2, 1935 in Beloit, WI the son of Iver and Helen (Falk) Freedlund. He graduated from Winnebago High School Class of 1953. He then served his country in the United States Army, after which he and his brother Dennis began dairy farming. He married the love of his life, Judy Hoffmann, on March 30, 1963, and they built a beautiful life together over the next 61 years. He was a man of strong faith and an active member of Faith Center in Rockford, where he served as an usher for many years. He was also a devoted member of the Gideons International. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lee. He is survived and missed by his wife, Judy of Winnebago; children, Cathy (Allan) Levandowski of Winnebago and Robert (Isabel) Freedlund of Byron; brothers, Dennis (Sandy) Freedlund of Winnebago and Michael (Loretta) Freedlund of Winnebago; sister-in-law, Donna Freedlund of Stockton; grandchildren, Benjamin Levandowski, Abby (fiancé Tim Fine) Levandowski, Anna Freedlund, Andrew Freedlund, Alex Freedlund, Donya (Ray) Sweeney, and Desi (Jesse) Warnke and numerous others who affectionately called him grandpa; 6 great grandchildren, and many special nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Faith Center in Rockford. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Faith Center in Rockford. Burial will be held at 2:30 PM at Middle Creek Cemetery on Friday. Memorials are established for the Gideons International or Rockford Rescue Mission.
